    • Programs
      Group projects into a "Program" to create a multi-project summary dashboard.

    • Forecasting is being renamed to Benchmarking to better align with the current and future functionality of the feature.

      RSMeans Construction Cost Indexes have been updated to the latest 2024 Q4 data.

    • Filter Projects List by Project Size (GSF)
      When filtering a list of projects, you can now filter them by the project size.
  • Join Insights (New Feature)
    • An all-new version of Join Insights
      Company-level dashboard highlighting progress and risk across your Join portfolio of projects.

    • Share Saved Project Comparison Reports

      View the cost summary in the Navigation Panel as total cost or $/Metric.

  • Join Projects Improvements
    • Item Estimate History
      View the detailed estimate of an Item (read-only) during a past Milestone. This is helpful when trying to see what costs have changed from one Milestone to the next.
    • Resend Invites
      Resend a project invite to teammates who haven't joined the project yet.
    • Join Support Links
      Links to contact Join Support have moved locations in the navigation panel from the user profile section to the help icon.

August 2024

  • Join Projects Improvements
    • Milestone Summary Report - Following the Active Milestone
      For saved Milestone Summary Reports, you can now choose whether the report should stay tied to a specific Milestone or automatically update based on the current active Milestone.
    • Item/Option Number Permission
      A new role permission has been added to restrict users from changing Item/Option numbers.
    • Create a Potential Change Order in Autodesk from an Accepted Item
      Link an accepted Item in Join to a Potential Change Order in Autodesk Build, streamlining the coordination activities between preconstruction and operations. This allows Join to continue to be the decision-making platform of choice for project stakeholders later in the project lifecycle and eliminates duplicate data entry.
    • Apply Milestone Markups on Items to Direct Cost Only
      When percent based Milestone Markups are applied to an Item estimate, you can now choose to apply it to the Direct Cost of the Item or the Direct Cost and the Item Markups.
    • Project Leads
      Assign a Project Lead (Project Executive) to your projects. This can be used to filter a list of projects by a Project Lead on the Projects List, Item Library, Forecasting, Insights, etc.

  • Join Projects Improvements
    • Owner Costs
      Track Owner Costs separate from your Milestone Markups to see the Cost of Construction and the full Project Total.
    • Project Costs Breakdown Report
      This new report shows a simple breakdown of project costs between Direct Costs, Markups, Contingencies, Allowances, and Owner Costs.
    • Organizations (Company Administrators Only)
      Create a company organizational structure within Join to assign your projects to for better organizing and quickly finding projects relevant to your business unit.
    • Collaborate Without Costs
      We've added a Show Costs toggle in the navigation bar, which will allow you to show or completely remove all costs from view throughout a project. Disabling this setting will remove all costs from being displayed, which can be useful for collaborating without costs or when presenting to a group where cost information may be sensitive or irrelevant to the discussion.
    • Revised Role Permissions Layout
      This revision to project role permissions includes a revised layout that better organizes the permissions, revised feature names, and added descriptions to better understand what each permission controls and their dependencies.

June 2024

  • Join Projects Improvements
    • Improved Navigation
      We're excited to launch an improved in-app experience that makes it easier to find and navigate project information in Join. The navigation bar has moved from the top of the browser to the left-hand side, and menu items are now easier to locate.
    • Team, Roles, and Permissions
      • Updated the layout of the Team page with Teammates, Companies, and Roles sub-tabs.
      • Add, copy, and delete project Roles. (Previously limited to five roles)
      • New Shared Reports permission to control who on the project can share saved reports with the team. (Previously limited to the Administrator role)
    • Markup Category Filtering Control
      Control how Categories applied to percent markups affect their calculation on top of other markups.
    • Delete an Item Estimate
      An Item estimate can be deleted (for Pending Items only). This will set the Cost Impact back to "No Estimate" instead of $0.

    • Scheduling a Report Distribution
      Variance, Items List, and Milestone Summary reports that have been saved and shared with the team can be scheduled to be distributed to selected teammates as a link via email on a set cadence.

    • Create a Change Event in Procore from an Accepted Item
      Link an accepted Item in Join to a Change Event in Procore, streamlining the coordination activities between preconstruction and operations. This allows Join to continue to be the decision-making platform of choice for project stakeholders later in the project lifecycle and eliminates duplicate data entry.
    • Import Estimates from Procore Estimating
      Estimates created in Procore Estimating can be exported (.XLSX) and then directly imported into a Join Milestone estimate or budget.
    • Sharing Scenarios
      Share a Scenario to Collaborate with teammates. For example, you could build out a Scenario and share it with the project owner so they can play with different outcomes by changing the status of Items without affecting the underlying project data until a path forward is decided.
  • Project Comparisons Report Improvements
    • Selecting Columns to Include
      Select any three columns from your list to include in your report, including multiple metrics columns. Columns available include metric quantities, metric $/unit, Total $, or Percent.

    • Sharing Draft Items
      Private Items in Join are now called Draft Items. Previously, Private Items could only be seen by the creator until published, but now you can share and collaborate on Draft Items with anyone on the project before publishing.

  • Project Comparisons Report Improvements
    • Project Comparison Bar Charts
      Visualize the differences between your comparison projects using the new bar charts at the top of the report. These can be visualized by project total or broken down by category for more granular analysis.
    • Project Notes
      You can add notes to each comparison project to provide additional context about each project and what assumptions were included.
    • Improved Print Experience
      When printing the Project Comparisons Report you can select whether to include charts and notes, and control the project thumbnail size. The report also includes up to eight project columns on a single page.
    • Project Type
      The report now includes the project type (Healthcare, Education, etc.) assigned to each project.

    • Export the Report to a Spreadsheet (.xlsx)
      Export a Project Comparisons report to a spreadsheet.
    • Filter the Comparison Projects by any Category
      Filter the selected estimate of a comparison project by any category used in that estimate. For example, you may want to filter by your Area categorization and only see costs related to the parking garage.
    • Edit Costs of Comparison Projects in the Report
      Manually override the subtotal or unit price of any line item of a comparison project (previously only possible in the comparison average column).
    • Add Lines to the Markups Section
      Insert new markup line items that are specific to the report you are building.
    • Add Multiple Milestones from the Same Project
      Add the same project to the Project Comparisons Report more than once and select different Milestones for each column.  You can also copy a project already added to a report to keep any changes you've made to the project in the report.
    • Updated Gordian's RSMeans Construction Cost Indexes
      RSMeans Construction Cost Indexes have been updated to the latest 2023 Q4 data.
