Markups in Milestone Estimates/Budgets
Understand the different types of markups in Milestone Estimates and Budgets.
Milestone Estimates and Budgets can include direct and indirect costs. Depending on how the cost data was entered, indirect costs will be divided into the following markup sections.
Incorporated Item Markups
When using the Copy From workflow with the Running Total, the Item Markups from all Accepted Items will be grouped together in the Incorporated Item Markups section. This table will also include a Source column, which indicates the Item each markup originated from.
Caution: This is not a live link with Items so any changes here will not be reflected in the Items these markups were copied from.
Milestone Markups, Contingencies, and Allowances
Milestone Estimates and Budgets each have a Milestone Markups, Contingencies, and Allowances section where you can enter indirect costs.
Note: Percent-based Markups, Contingencies, and Allowance defined within the Milestone Estimate get included in all Items within that Milestone. To configure how Milestone Markups get inherited, utilize the Inherited Item Settings.
Incorporated Item Adjustments (Contingency & Allowance)
When using the Copy From workflow with the Running Total, the Contingency and Allowance adjustments (draws and adds) from all Accepted Items will be grouped together in the Incorporated Item Adjustments section. This table will also include a Source column, which indicates the Item each markup originated from.
Note: This table is read-only and can't be edited.
Owner Costs
Track Owner Costs separately from Milestone Markups for a complete view of the total project costs. The Owner Costs table is below the Cost of Construction. These costs are included in the Project Total. Owner Costs function similarly to markups and can't be added as direct costs.
Tip: Use the Project Costs Display settings in the navigation panel to show or hide owner costs.
