Join Ideas is a Join product feature that helps project teams ideate and consider alternate materials and processes. Join Ideas suggests relevant contextual ideas for consideration and incorporation into a project.
How do I access Join Ideas?
Join Ideas is currently in a limited beta. If you can access Join Ideas, you can find it as a new Ideas tab in any Join project. If you’re unsure if you have access to Join Ideas or would like access to Join Ideas, please contact our Support Team.
How are Join Ideas created, and is my company data used?
Join Ideas originate from analyzing anonymized data about Join Items. This analysis is specifically focused on evaluating the substitution of a product or system. This includes Join Items that utilize “in lieu of”, “replace A with B”, or “evaluate A versus B” types of patterns. The Join Items used for this analysis are extracted from active projects and anonymized by obfuscating stylistic language and removing any reference to company, people, or project-specific information.
Only repeating patterns are suggested to ensure no Join Ideas can be associated with a particular company or process. This frequency of patterns and how they are directed helps provide the ability to suggest methods and materials involved in substitutions commonly evaluated by project teams across our industry.
Does my project location influence Join Ideas?
Join Ideas currently does not account for suitability based on your project’s geographical location. Factoring all the geographical implications for suitability within the project context typically requires the judgment of your team, and Join has opted not to restrict any potential options due to geographic constraints. Join Ideas that your team deems unsuitable for the project and location can be displayed or hidden at your discretion as suitable to meet the specific circumstances of each project.
Which Join Ideas will I see in my project?
Join attempts to analyze ideas from our idea library that are most relevant based on a variety of data in your project, such as the milestone phase and the materials or systems identified in your milestone estimate.
Where does the content of a Join Idea come from?
The content in a Join Idea has been independently curated from research by Join industry specialists. Multiple independent resources were used for each Join idea to ensure the content is accurate and unbiased. Consequently, Join Ideas that deal with system-level content are relatively generic in addressing the advantages and disadvantages of each system, whereas Join Ideas that are more product-specific will often utilize public data available from product manufacturers.
How frequently do Join Ideas change?
Join will continue to expand the number of available Join Ideas and improve each Join Idea’s content. This could happen as frequently as monthly but not less than quarterly to ensure your projects are working seamlessly with the most current content.
Can I customize Join Ideas for my company or project?
