Learn how to export your detailed cost estimate from ProEst, so it is ready to import into Join
Creating a Custom Report in ProEst
- After logging into ProEst, click the System Settings menu at the top and select Report Center.
- In the Report Center, click the Report Writer tab, and click +Add New Report. Give the report a Description, Report Type, Report Folder, Orientation, and Paper Size. Click the pencil icon to edit the new report.
- When editing the report, add one Estimate Table and three Summary tables.
- In the Estimate Table, add the following columns:
- [Sort Type] Code and [Sort Type Name] columns for each of the Sort Type codes you would like to export with your estimate.
- Description
- Quantity
- Unit
- Unit Cost
- Labor Unit Cost
- Labor Total
- Equipment Unit Cost
- Equipment Total
- Material Unit Cost
- Material Total
- Subcontractor Unit Cost
- Subcontractor Total
- Other Unit Cost
- Other Total
- Total
- In the three Summary tables, select the following options (your company may have renamed these, but there should be three Cost Details tables).
- Base Cost Details
- Direct cost Cost Details
- Indirect cost Cost Details
- Your report should now look something like this. When you are done, click the Save button.
- Back in the Report Center, make sure the new report is visible by turning the toggle on.
Note: Creating the custom report only needs to be done once for your company.
Exporting an Estimate from ProEst
- Navigate to the Reports page in the navigation panel and open the saved report in the folder you selected, which will give you a preview of the report.
- Click Excel in the top right to download the estimate to a spreadsheet.
Transferring the Data to the Join Import Template
- Download this ProEst Join Import Template spreadsheet.
- Copy and paste the raw data from each sheet in your exported estimate to its respective sheet in the downloaded template (green-colored tabs).
- Select all (CTRL + A)
- Copy (CTRL + C)
- Paste (CTRL + V)
- On the Lines sheet, change the names of each Sort Type highlighted in yellow in row two to match the names of the Sort Types you exported with your estimate (these have been transferred to the Estimate Data sheet in step two above).
- Optional - The template comes with the option for 10 Sort Types. Delete the columns for unused Sort Types, or copy and insert two additional columns for each Sort Type to add more.
- Save the import template.
